Many countries consider birthday cake, birthday candles, birthday presents, and singing Happy Birthday to be a tradition, and some countries do not have specific traditions for a child’s first birthday party, but you can also start personal traditions if you would like.

 

For example, you can cook a special dish on your child’s birthday or do something special on that day that you do each year. Another example that you and your child might enjoy could be taking a picture on your child’s birthday in the same place each year. Once your child is older, he or she will enjoy seeing how they looked over the years.
