The Itty Bitty Bug Theme is a great theme for young girls or boys who are between 1 and 3 years of age. This party is extremely cute, and all you have to do is decorate your house with bug decorations. For example, if you have a little girl, you can choose to decorate with butterflies and ladybugs, and if you have a little boy you can decorate with bumblebees and caterpillars. You can make your own bugs with some construction paper and glue and put them all over your house. The invitations can feature bugs or you can buy invitations that are shaped like bugs.

 

This is also a great excuse to reuse that old bug costume that your friend's child or your older child wore for Halloween. You can find very cute costumes that you can dress your child in, like ladybugs and bumblebees. This makes for great photos and looks very cute at your bug themed birthday party.

 

It is very easy to make food for this party, and cupcakes are perfect for this theme. Once you have made the cupcakes, you can decorate them to look like bumblebees and ladybugs with a little bit of icing. You can also stick pretzels into the sides of the cupcakes to make bug legs. If you do not want to make cupcakes, you can also make a cute cake for this theme. For example, you can make a sheet cake and ice it with green icing. After that you can make your own bugs out of icing the same way you would decorate the cupcakes. You can also make “bug” themed snacks, like ants on a log, which is a celery stick that you cover in peanut butter, and then you add some raisins to the peanut butter. You can also buy paper plates and cups that have bugs on them so that they fit in with the theme.

 

If you have toddlers at your party, you can have activities like coloring pages that feature bugs, or they can help decorate some cupcakes. Toddlers also might enjoy games like Cootie, the board game where you roll the dice and build a bug out of plastic pieces.

 

This party is great for young children because it makes for great photo opportunities, and it is very easy to set up. Even if your child isn't old enough to remember the party, you will surely have fond memories of your itty bitty bug birthday party.
